More clouds, showers and humidity for your Thursday!


Yesterday we fell short of the anticipated high temperatures yesterday for the northern part of New Jersey as we only reached 71 degrees but southern New Jersey broke into sunshine with readings in the 80s. One thing that we did have was the humidity as dew points reached close to 70. We had a very heavy thunderstorm come through shortly after 10am, glad I finished my run 15 minutes before the downpour, we picked up a quick .56″ of rain in a little over an hour, otherwise all we had was some drizzle and cloudy skies all day.
Today an area of showers is across Eastern Pennsylvania and will move into our area by mid-day. The humidity and overcast conditions will remain most of the day. A weak cold front will be moving through tonight and Friday will be a little less humid but with plenty of sunshine temperatures will approach 80. A cold front on Saturday afternoon will be accompanied by a chance of showers, temperatures will be in the 70s dropping off after the cold front. Sunday looks like a very chilly with a chance of rain. Clearing with the coolest temperatures of the season early next week..

The forecast: Today – Cloudy and humid with showers likely, high in the mid to upper 70s.
Tonight – A chance of showers mainly before 8pm, clearing later at night, low near 60.
Friday – Sunny and a little less humid, high near 80.
Saturday – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the mid 70s, temperatures falling into the 40s by Sunday morning..
Sunday – Cloudy and quite cool with a chance of rain, high only in the upper 50s.
Monday – Mostly sunny and cool, high in the low 60s.
Tuesday – Sunny, highs in the low to mid 60s.
Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

Marine Forecast: Today – Fog this morning, winds southwest around 5 knots, seas 2 feet.
Outlook – Sub advisory level winds and seas through the middle of next week.

Foggy start to Hump Day!


Yesterday we had more rain than originally thought as overrunning rain ahead of a warm front caused more lift and heavier rain, although we had less than 1/2 inch of rain in Clifton places just to our north and west got over 2 inches of precipitation.
Today we start out foggy and with clouds lingering high temperatures today should stay below 80 degrees, however it will be quite humid along with a chance of showers.
Thursday a cool front will be coming through with another chance of showers. Looks like Friday will be the best day with more sunshine and warm temperatures. A cold front will be coming through the weekend with rain chances both Saturday and Sunday, near normal temperatures on Saturday will be replaced by much cooler readings on Sunday with highs not getting out of the 50s. Dry and quite cool weather for early next week.

Tonight – Mostly cloudy, quite mild and muggy with fog and drizzle, low in the mid 60s.
Thursday – Fog and drizzle in the morning with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 70s.
Friday – Sunny, warm but not as muggy, high in the low 80s.
Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high around 70.
Sunday – Cloudy with a chance of rain, much cooler with highs in the upper 50s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.
Tuesday – Sunny, high in the low to mid 60s.

Marine Forecast:: Today – North-northeast wind less than 10 knots becoming Southeast, seas around 3 feet.. dense fog this morning.
Outlook – Below advisory level conditions through early next week but seas my increase to 5 feet and winds to 20 knots behind the cold front Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Lots of clouds with some light rain for Tuesday!


The pleasant weather of yesterday will be replaced by cloudy skies, humidity will rise and there is a chance of sprinkles this morning and light rain by this afternoon and tonight. Wednesday will be quite humid for October and if there are enough breaks in the clouds temperatures will reach near 80 degrees with chances of showers and thunderstorms. Thursday will be less humid but with more sunshine readings will reach into the 80s. Still mild into the early part of the weekend but a cold front will be crossing the area Saturday night with much cooler weather for Sunday into early next week..

September averaged a little above normal in temperatures and slightly below normal in precipitation… It was the 20th straight month of above normal temperatures..

Tonight – Cloudy and muggy with a chance of light rain or drizzle, low in the low to mid 60s.
Wednesday – Cloudy with a chance of drizzle in the morning and a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms quite humid with highs near 80.
Thursday – Becoming partly sunny and unseasonably warm with highs in the low 80s.
Friday – Sunny, high in the upper 70s.
Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers at night, high in the low 70s.
Sunday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, much cooler, highs only in the low 60s.
Monday – Partly sunny, highs again in the low 60s.

A sunny and mild day for the first day of October.!


Yesterday we had scattered showers around but most areas stayed dry with seasonable temperatures.. Today we will have a pleasant day to start October with sunny skies and temperatures a couple of degrees higher than yesterday after a chilly start this morning.
Increasing clouds tonight with rain chances increase on Tuesday. Warm and humid on Wednesday and it will feel more like summer. Thursday and Friday will be less humid but stay quite mild.. A strong cold front will be moving in this weekend with much cooler weather behind it that should last most of next week.

Tonight – Increasing clouds, not as cool as last night, low in the mid 50s.
Tuesday – Cloudy with a good chance of showers mainly after noontime, high in the low 70s
Wednesday – Cloudy, warm and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 80.

Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 70s.
