Pleasant weather to extend through the weekend!


Another mostly clear morning with daybreak temperatures again in the 50s with some 40s in the normally colder areas.
Today will be very similar to yesterday’s weather with sunny skies, low humidity and high temperatures around 80 degrees or a bit above.
A rather nice weekend is on tap with dry weather continuing but there may be some more clouds on Sunday as a weak disturbance to our south pushes out to sea, precipitation should be confined to extreme Southern New Jersey. Temperatures will be slightly below normal with dew points remaining in the comfortable 50s.
A slow increase in temperatures and humidity levels next week as return to more typical August weather. Temperatures may reach the 90 degree mark by Wednesday. There is a slight chance of a light shower on Monday and Tuesday but most areas will not see any rain through next Friday.

Beautiful and pleasant mid-August weather to continue!


Temperatures this morning at daybreak have dipped down to the mid-50s in the Clifton area to many readings in the 40s in the normally colder areas.
Today we will have plenty of sunshine, temperatures will be a couple of degrees higher than yesterday with less wind, humidity will stay quite low.
Another gorgeous day on Friday.
At this point the weekend looks dry but a front to our south will cause a little more cloudiness and the humidity will start to rise.
As we head into next week it appears that we will begin to slowly warm up and become more humid, most areas will stay dry but a shower cannot be completely ruled out. Temperatures may hit the 90 degree mark for the first time this month by the end of next week.

Another preview to fall weather the rest of this week!


A cold front passed through the area last night pushing the clouds and showers offshore. Yesterday we had a little over a half inch of rain in Clifton, however Central and Southern New Jersey had more torrential rainfall and some severe weather with a small tornado reported in Manahawkin.
Much cooler air has moved in with temperatures this morning at daybreak has fallen to the 50s with dew points falling to the very comfortable 40s.
Today will feature plenty of sunshine with high temperatures not rising above the upper 70s with continued very low humidity levels and a refreshing gusty northwest wind.
This cool and dry weather should continue through the weekend with only a slow moderation of temperatures.
More clouds early next week as a warm front slowly moves northward from the southeast states, temperatures will be near normal.
Looking at the long range models it appears that we may have warmer temperatures and higher humidity toward the end of next week that may last through the rest of August

Heavy rain moving into the area; Flash flood watch in effect!


Rain has moved into the area as of 6am this morning and will become quite heavy at times especially this morning, a flash flood watch is in effect and we may get an average of 1-2 inches of rain with some higher amounts up to 4 inches. There also may be some thunderstorms that can be accompanied by some strong gusty winds. With cloudy skies and precipitation high temperatures will only reach the upper 70s but it will be humid..
A cold front will swing through later tonight ending the rain.
Another preview of fall Wednesday through Friday with mostly fair skies, very low humidity and temperatures reaching 80 degrees during the day but dropping to the 50s at night.
Weekend looks dry with slowly moderating temperatures..

Unsettled weather to start the work week!


At dawn this morning it is cloudy, there is even a patch of showers over parts of Morris and Somerset counties and this area may give some of us some rain this morning. Temperature and humidity levels are higher than the last couple of days. We will have mostly cloudy skies today it will be on the muggy side with a chance a shower continuing..
More general showers and thunderstorms after midnight tonight as a cold front approaches the area.
Showers and thunderstorms become even more likely on Tuesday some of these storms could be on the strong side.
After the frontal passage on Tuesday night we will welcome a return to cooler and drier air Wednesday through Friday, temperatures will be slightly below normal and dew points will be in the comfortable 50s.
At this point the forecast for the weekend is dry will moderating temperatures.
