Some light snow this morning followed by finally some milder weather!


A band of mostly light snow started around 4am this morning, temperatures are in the low 20s in the Clifton area with teens inland.

Light snow will continue only for the next couple of hours with accumulations of only an inch or two, precipitation should change to rain before ending.  Temperatures will rise to near 40 degrees by this afternoon.

More light precipitation during the day on Wednesday but this will fall primarily as rain as temperatures rise into the 40s.

Dry and mild on Thursday.

A cold front moving through on Friday will cause rain showers to develop before daybreak and continue through the day, however temperatures will rise into the 50s.

The weekend will be dry with high temperatures in the 40s.

Colder weather will return next week.

 

The forecast: Today – Light snow this morning changing to rain before ending this afternoon, accumulations 1-2 inches, high near 40.

Tonight – Partly cloudy, low in the upper 20s.

Wednesday – Cloudy with a chance of rain showers, 9am through 3pm followed by clearing, high in the mid 40s.

Thursday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.  Rain likely after midnight.

Friday – Cloudy with rain showers likely, high in the low-mid 50s.

Saturday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

Sunday – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

Monday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 30s.

 

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory in effect till 10pm for southwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 2-4 feet.

Outlook – Advisories possible on Wednesday and likely on Friday..

Cold President’s Day; Light snow Tuesday morning; Mild Wednesday through Sunday!


With clear skies temperatures in the Clifton area have fallen to the low teens with some single digits further inland. This will be the coldest morning for at least the next several days.

Today will feature plenty of sunshine, temperatures will still have a hard time reaching the freezing mark but with light winds and an increased sun angle it will feel warmer than the last couple of days.

A weak storm system will be moving just to our south Tuesday morning, giving us some more “not needed snow”.  Accumulations should range from around 2-4 inches starting around 4am tomorrow and end in the early afternoon as a mix of rain and snow.

Milder weather from Wednesday through Sunday with a chance of some rain showers on Wednesday and again on Friday.  Friday should be the mildest day with highs reaching the 50s.

After a mild weekend a cold front will be moving through the area on Sunday with colder air returning for next week and with this pattern another snowstorm is not out of the question.

Tonight – Increasing cloudiness with snow developing around 4am, low in the mid 20s.

Tuesday – Snow changing to rain before ending in the early afternoon, accumulations 2-4 inches.

Wednesday – Partly sunny with a chance of rain showers, high in the upper 40s.

Thursday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

Friday – Cloudy with rain showers likely, high in the low 50s.

Saturday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

Sunday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 40s.

 

Marine Forecast: Today – Northwest winds up to 15 knots this morning diminishing this afternoon, seas 3 feet this morning lowering to 1 foot this afternoon.

Cold weather continues; Snow likely Monday night into Tuesday morning!


The storm system that gave the Clifton area about 1.5″ of snow has moved into the Canadian maritime region.  Skies have cleared and temperatures are mainly in the mid-upper teens and with some gusty winds it feels even colder.

Today will start out sunny but we should have some increasing clouds in the afternoon with even some flurries today and this evening.   High temperatures will be well below normal reaching only the 30 degree mark.

Monday will be dry and continued cold but skies will becoming cloudy by evening with snow developing after midnight and continuing into Tuesday morning mixing with sleet and rain before ending on Tuesday afternoon.  Accumulations will be in the 1-3″ range, temperatures will moderate to near normal.

Finally some milder air will move in on Wednesday that should last through the weekend and although there may be slight chances of precipitation most areas will be dry and if anything does fall it would just be some light rain on Friday.

Looking further ahead into early next week it appears that we may be in store to below normal temperatures once again..

Monday – Sunny, high in the low 30s, snow developing after midnight.

Tuesday – Snow in the morning, possible accumulations 1-3 inches, precipitation changing to sleet and rain before ending, high near 40.

Wednesday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid-upper 40s.

Thursday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid-upper 40s.

Friday – Cloudy with a chance of rain, high near 50.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy, high in the upper 40s.

 

Marine Forecast:  Small craft advisory in effect till late tonight for northwest winds becoming westerly up to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

Outlook – Advisories possible on Wednesday otherwise sub-advisory levels should prevail.

And still a little more snow today followed by colder weather for Sunday and Monday!


Skies are cloudy at daybreak, temperatures in the Clifton area are in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees, there is some light snow being reported in the Poconos.

Today snow will develop around noon and continue until about 9pm, expect 2-4″ of more snow on top of the nearly 2 feet of snowpack that we have on the ground now… Winds will increase later today into tonight as the storm system intensifies offshore.

Sunday will be partly sunny and cold with a chance of some afternoon flurries.

Cold and dry weather for Monday but still another disturbance may give us some light snow Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Dry weather with a warming trend is still on tap for Wednesday through next weekend!

Tonight – Snow ending by 9pm followed by clearing, windy, low around 20.

Sunday – Partly sunny, chance of afternoon flurries, high around 30.

Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 20s, good chance of light snow at night.

Tuesday – Light snow ending around noon followed by clearing, high near 40.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

Thursday – Mostly cloudy, high in the upper 40s.

Friday – Mostly cloudy, high near 50.

 

Marine Forecast: Gale warnings in effect from this afternoon till late tonight for Northeast wind gustin to 35 knots, seas increasing to 4-8 feet.

Outlook – Conditions fall to below advisory levels late Sunday night and continue through next Wednesday.

Winter storm moving away but a little more snow again on Saturday!


Snow has ended in the Clifton area after picking up an additional four inches on the backside of this winter storm, total accumulation here was 17.0. Skies are cloudy and temperatures are a little warmer than the past several mornings only falling to the upper 20s.

Today skies will clear and temperatures will rise to near normal reaching the upper 30s and with sunshine it will help melt some of this tremendous snowpack.  However it will be windy with some gusts reaching 30 mph or higher..

Another weaker disturbance will be moving through on Saturday and we may pickup another 2-3 inches of the white stuff mostly falling in the morning hours.

Quite cold again Sunday and Monday but we should stay dry.

Another low pressure system will affect the area on Tuesday with a good chance of light snow that should change to rain before ending as temperatures warm up to the 40s.

Finally some warmer weather moving in from Wednesday through next weekend with no big storms in sight.  This warming trend is all dependent that my wife takes down our winter shower curtain.

Saturday – Snow likely, mostly in the morning,  accumulation 2-3 inches, high in the mid  30s.

Marine Forecast: Gale warnings in effect till 1pm this afternoon for westerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 6-9 feet.

Outlook – Small craft advisories likely through Sunday morning, dropping below advisory levels Sunday afternoon through Monday but advisories again possible on Tuesday.
