Dry and breezy today with “seasonably” cold temperatures! Less wind tomorrow! Unseasonably mild weather again next week!


Skies are mostly clear in most of the area early on this Saturday morning and temperatures have fallen to the low 30s here in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds are from the west averaging 10-15 mph.  There are some flurries being reported over the Poconos and some parts of northwest New Jersey.

Today we will have a mix of clouds and sun and it will be breezy with highs just around average for this time of year but after being so mild the last few weeks today will feel downright cold. Tonight winds will diminish and low temperatures will drop to the upper 20s in the Clifton area to some teens further inland, again these temperatures are near normal for this time of year.

Plenty of sunshine on Sunday with temperatures a couple of degrees higher than today but with less wind it will feel more comfortable.

Another warming trend starts on Monday and lasts through the entire week as we are on track to having the warmest December on record.  Monday will be dry however showers are possible Tuesday into Thursday, the best chance of record temperatures will be on Christmas Eve with highs well up into the 60s.

A cold front will come through on Christmas Eve night with cooler weather with plenty of sunshine expected on Christmas Day, although it will be cooler temperatures will continue to be well above normal.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, low in the upper 20s.

SUNDAY – Sunny, high in the mid 40s.

MONDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

TUESDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 50s.

WEDNESDAY – Cloudy with showers likely, high in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid-upper 60s.

CHRISTMAS DAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Gale warning is in effect till 10 p.m. tonight for west winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected for Sunday, advisories possible on Monday, no advisories expected Tuesday through the day on Wednesday.
