Summerlike warmth today through the holiday weekend!

Skies are clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 50s here in Clifton ranging down to some mid 40s further inland, winds are nearly calm.

Nine days ago I wrote in my blog that the models were indicating a pattern change starting today and lasting through the holiday weekend and amazingly this will turn on to be the case as persistent trough that has dominated the weather most of this month will be replaced by a high pressure ridge in our area.  Today with plenty of sunshine temperatures will take a run at 90 degrees, however the humidity will be on the low side, the last time it reached 90 degrees here was back on September the 9th.

Much above normal warmth should continue through most of the holiday weekend with an increase in humidity by Friday, with the humidity and a couple of fronts to our north may cause some afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms over the weekend but most of the time it will be dry.

A weak backdoor cold front coming through late on Sunday may cause a cooler onshore flow on Memorial Day.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Sunny, high near 90.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the low 60s.

THURSDAY – Sunny, high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny, chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon showers, high in the mid 80s.

MEMORIAL DAY – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high near 80.

TUESDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high near 80.

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – West wind to 8 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Thursday through Sunday.

Have a good day!

Showers and seasonably cool today! Much warmer tomorrow through much of the holiday weekend!

We have light rain falling early on this Tuesday morning and it is rather mild with most temperatures in the mid-upper 50s, winds are nearly calm.

A weak low pressure is off the Long Island coast and is expected to weaken and move to off the New England coast today while an upper level low will be in our area today causing showers and possibly a thunderstorm into this evening followed by clearing by late tonight, with the clouds temperatures will only rise to the low 70s.

The well advertised change to a more summerlike pattern will start tomorrow and last through most of the holiday weekend.  Tomorrow will be dry with highs well up into the 80s with a 90 degree possible in some areas.

Thursday should be dry and warm.

An increase in humidity Friday through Sunday will cause a possibility of some scattered afternoon showers each day but most of the time it will be dry with highs in the 80s.

A cold front is expected to cross the area sometime on Sunday with dry conditions with cooler temperatures for Memorial Day.

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – Cloudy with showers and possibly a thunderstorm, high in the low 70s.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers this evening becoming mostly clear late tonight, low in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 80s.

MEMORIAL DAY – Partly sunny and not as warm, high in the mid 70s.
