Cold rain heavy at times today and tonight with a wintery mix inland! Still chilly and cloudy on Saturday with showers! Sunshine returns and milder on Sunday!


FRIDAY  MARCH 31, 2017   6:00  A.M.

We have cloudy skies early on this Friday morning, some light rain is occurring in parts of the area with inland areas having some sleet and freezing rain, temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are light.

Low pressure will move from the midwest to Virginia by tonight, after a short break in the rain around daybreak rain will then return by later this morning and become heavy at times this afternoon and tonight, rainfall amounts will be around 2 inches.  Inland sleet and freezing rain will mix with the rain this morning and again tonight especially over higher elevations.  Winds across the area will pick up from the east making today a quite a miserable weather day.

Overcast skies along with some showers on Saturday, temperatures will be chilly again.

Sunday will be a rather nice spring day with plenty of sunshine and milder temperatures.

Another low pressure area will cause more rain Monday night into Tuesday but it will not be as chilly as today.

Fair weather is expected for Wednesday but another low pressure area may give us more rain toward the end of next week with seasonably mild temperatures.

TODAY – MAR 31 – Rain mixed with sleet at times, breezy, high only around 40.

TONIGHT – Rain heavy at times, breezy, low in the mid 30s.

SATURDAY – APR 1 – Cloudy with rain mainly in the morning, high in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY – APR 2 – Sunny, high in the upper 50s.

MONDAY – APR 3 – Partly sunny in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon, high in the mid 50s, rain likely at night.

TUESDAY – APR 4 – Rain likely, high in the mid 50s.

WEDNESDAY – APR 5 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.

THURSDAY – APR 6 – Partly sunny with a chance of rain, high near 60.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Gale warning will be in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon until noon on Saturday for easterly winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 6-11 feet.

OUTLOOK – Small craft conditions expected Saturday afternoon through the day on Sunday for high seas; no advisories expected Sunday night into the day on Monday; possible advisories Monday night into Tuesday.

THURSDAY  MARCH 30, 2017  5:53 A.M.

Skies are clear early on this Thursday morning and with light winds temperatures have fallen to the mid 30s in the Clifton area to some mid 20s in the normally colder inland valleys.

High pressure building from Eastern Canada will keep conditions dry today but we should see some increasing cloudiness this afternoon, high temperatures will be around 5 degrees cooler than yesterday.

A low pressure area now in the middle of the country will move east into our area on Friday, look for rain to develop  before daybreak which may be mixed with some freezing rain and sleet well inland.  Windswept rain will continue through the night and end Saturday morning, rain will be heavy at times with amounts around 1.5 inches.

During the day on Saturday it will be cloudy and cool.

Nice weather for Sunday and Monday with near normal temperatures.

More rain again on Tuesday and then again towards the end of next week..

Today we will see some sunshine after early cloudiness, temperatures will be mild with highs approaching the 60 degree mark.

Still a nice day but slightly cooler on Thursday.

More rain and cool on Friday as another low pressure is expected to affect the area, precipitation may start off as a wintery mix well inland, about an 1 inch of rainfall is anticipated.

After early rain Saturday morning we should see some clearing in the afternoon.

Nice weather Sunday and Monday with seasonably mild temperatures.

More rain is possible on Tuesday…

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there are some showers that have moved to our east, winds are light and there is some fog in the area.

Today we will continue to have cloudy skies with periods of rain mostly falling from the late morning into this evening, there is even a chance of some thunderstorms, temperatures will be similar to yesterday with highs in the 50s.

High pressure will build into the area on Wednesday and control our weather into Thursday, temperatures will be seasonably mild.

Another low pressure area is expected to move into the area on Friday with rain again likely from Friday morning into Saturday morning, temperatures will be cool on Friday and milder on Saturday.

Dry weather with near seasonable temperatures expected Sunday and Monday.

We have cloudy skies early on this Monday morning and there is some drizzle or light rain falling in  most of the area, temperatures are cool ranging from the upper 30s in the Clifton area to the low 30s further inland, winds are from the northeast averaging around 10 mph.

A warm front will cross the area this afternoon preceded by some rain and drizzle mainly falling this morning, we may dry out this afternoon but considerable cloudiness will continue, temperatures will not be as cool with temperatures rising to the 50s.

More overcast conditions on Tuesday along with mild temperatures and a chance of showers as a cold front approaches.

High pressure will build over the area on Wednesday and will control our weather into Thursday, temperatures both days will be near normal.

Another low pressure system will give us a chance of more rain Friday into Saturday followed by clearing on Sunday.
