Unseasonably warm today and Tuesday with plenty of sunshine! A little cooler on Wednesday with a possible shower!


MONDAY  APRIL 10, 2017  5:38 A.M.

We have mostly clear skies early on this Monday morning and temperatures are about 10 degrees warmer than this time yesterday ranging from the upper 40s in the Clifton area to the mid 30s in some of the inland valleys, winds are mainly calm.

A high pressure ridge offshore will give us a southwest flow of unseasonably warm air today and tomorrow with highs both days around 80 degrees, we should see plenty of sunshine but it will be a little breezy especially today.   Note: So far this year the highest temperature recorded was an amazing 75 degrees set on February 24th.

A weak cold front will cross the area Wednesday morning giving us a low chance of showers, daytime highs will be cooler but still above normal.

Dry weather Thursday through Saturday with temperatures a little above normal.

Warmer again on Easter Sunday but there is another low chance of a shower in the morning.

We have clear skies and light winds early on this Sunday morning and there is a wide range of temperatures with the low 40s in the Clifton area down to the chilly upper 20s in some of the inland valleys.

High pressure will be moving off the Carolina coast today with a southwest flow of much milder air today and with light winds and strong April sunshine it will be a very pleasant day after having chilly and windy conditions the last couple of days.

High pressure offshore will continue to give us a southwest flow of even warmer air Monday and Tuesday with temperatures well up into the 70s to even near 80 in some areas, skies will remain mostly clear.

A weak cold front will cross the area on Wednesday with only a very slight chance of a shower, temperatures will be lower but still above normal.

Seasonably mild temperatures at the end of this week into the holiday weekend with the only a low chance of showers Friday morning and again on Easter Sunday.

We have mostly cloudy conditions early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from around 40 in the Clifton area to the mid 30s in some inland locations, winds are gusty out of the west.

Low pressure north of Maine along with high pressure building from the Gulf states will give us a brisk northwest flow of cool air, with some more sunshine temperatures will be a couple degrees higher than yesterday.

The cool and stormy pattern of the last few weeks will be replaced by a mild and dry one for at least the next two weeks.

Sunday will have plenty of sunshine, less wind and milder temperatures.

Monday and Tuesday will even be warmer along with sunshine both days.

A weak cold front will cool things down a bit for Wednesday but no precipitation is expected with this front.

Dry and slightly cooler on Thursday and another front may give us a shower on Good Friday.

We have partly cloudy skies early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low to mid 40s, winds are from the southwest around 10 mph.

The storm that gave us the rain and thunderstorms yesterday has moved to the northern part of New York State, the circulation around the low pressure will give us breezy conditions along with some showers mainly this afternoon and evening, rainfall amounts should be less than a tenth of an inch.

Nice weather for the weekend as high pressure builds towards the area from the southeast states, tomorrow will be cool and a little breezy but by Sunday afternoon temperatures will rise to above normal.

Sunny with well above normal temperatures Monday and Tuesday with readings well up into the 70s.

A weak cold front will possibly give us a light shower on Wednesday followed by cooler weather toward the end of next week but temperatures will still be a little above normal.

We have cloudy conditions early on this Thursday morning and there are some scattered showers in parts of the area, temperatures range from the mid 40s in the Clifton area to around 40 further inland, winds are from the southeast averaging around 10 mph.

A intensifying storm was over Ohio this morning with a warm front approaching from the south, these systems will cause rain heavy at times with some thunderstorms, the heaviest rain should occur between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., rainfall amounts will average 1-2 inches with some higher amounts possible, near seasonable temperatures are expected.   A flood watch is in effect.

Rain will taper off to occasional showers tonight and Friday looks to be a mainly cloudy day with a chance of showers, temperatures will be cool.

The weekend will be pleasant, temperatures will be near seasonable on Saturday but raise to above normal readings during the day on Sunday.

Early next week will be warm and dry with most highs in the 70s, a cold front may give us a shower on Wednesday.
