Cool, breezy and mainly dry today as most rain will stay just to our south! Sunny and quite pleasant on Sunday with low humidity!


SATURDAY  JULY 29, 2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are cloudy over the area early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from upper 60s in the Clifton area down to the low 60s further inland, dew points have dropped into the comfortable low 50s and there is a brisk northeast wind.    Rain is falling south of the Raritan River.

A rather strong low pressure area will move to our south and east today, it now appears that most of Northern New Jersey will stay dry while the central and southern parts of the state will have rain mainly this morning.  It will be cloudy this morning with some sunshine this afternoon, temperatures will be cool and the humidity will remain low with a brisk northeast wind.  Tonight will be clear and cool with most lows dropping into the 50s.

More sunshine with seasonably warm temperatures on Sunday with continued low humidity as dew points drop to the unseasonable 40s.

Mainly dry this upcoming week with slowly rising temperatures and humidity, the next chance of showers will be Thursday into Friday as a front approaches from the west.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, low in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – JUL 30 – Sunny with low humidity, high in the low 80s.

MONDAY – JUL 31 – Sunny, high in the upper 80s.

TUESDAY – AUG 1 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 2 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 3 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers, high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 4 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the mid 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Gale warning in effect until 2 a.m. Sunday morning for northeast winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 6-9 feet.  Dangerously high riptides.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK – Small craft advisory expected on Sunday; no advisories expected Monday through Wednesday.
