Warm and humid but mainly dry today! Showers and thunderstorms likely late tonight into Saturday morning! Fantastic weather for Sunday!


FRIDAY  AUGUST 4, 2017  5:53 A.M.

Skies early this Friday morning are partly cloudy and temperatures are mild ranging from around 70 in the Clifton area to the low 60s further inland, it is rather muggy with dew points in the upper 60s, winds are mainly calm.

Today we should have a mix of clouds and sunshine, temperatures will be quite warm and the humidity will continue to be on the high side with dew points in the upper 60s.  It will be mainly dry with only a slight chance of showers mainly to our north and west.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday morning likely preceded by showers and thunderstorms from late tonight into Saturday morning.  The front will be followed by much less humid air by the afternoon.

Sunday will be a fantastic weather day with seasonably warm temperatures with quite low humidity as dew points drop to the 50s.

Another low pressure system will likely give us rain on Monday.

Mainly dry weather Tuesday through Thursday with slightly below normal temperatures.   There is no sign of any extended heat waves for at least the next two weeks.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy in the evening then mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight, some rain may be heavy, humid, low in the low 70s.

SATURDAY – AUG 5 – Mostly cloudy in the morning with showers and thunderstorms likely, becoming partly sunny and less humid in the afternoon, high in the low 80s

SUNDAY – AUG 6 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 7 – Cloudy with showers likely, high in the upper 70s.

TUESDAY – AUG 8 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming partly sunny in the afternoon, high near 80.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 9 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 10 – Partly sunny, high near 80.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – South-southeast wind to 12 knots, seas 1-2 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 76 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Saturday through Tuesday.
