Another hot and humid day today with a chance of a thunderstorms! Heat and humidity continue on Wednesday with more widespread thunderstorm activity!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and once again it is quite warm and muggy with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s in the Clifton are down to the upper 60s further inland,  dew points are mainly in the oppressive low 70s, winds are mainly calm.

Another hot and humid day today with temperatures reaching the 90s once again and with dew points in the low 70s will push the heat index close to 100, a heat advisory continues in effect.  There is a low chance of some afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms mostly north and west of our area.

Still quite warm and humid on Wednesday and there should be more widespread thunderstorm activity as a slow moving cold front moves into our area.

Mainly dry and warm Thursday and Friday with slightly less humidity.

Humidity returns over the weekend as well as a chance of showers as high pressure moves off the coast and a front will be in our area.  Although there will be a chance of showers this weekend it should not be a total washout.  Temperatures will be somewhat lower with more cloud cover.

 

THE FORECAST:

TODAY – AUG 7 – Mostly sunny with a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm, hot and humid, high in the low 90s.  A heat advisory is in effect with heat index of 100 degrees.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy and muggy with a chance of mainly evening showers and thunderstorms, some storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds, low in the mid 70s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 8 – Partly sunny and humid with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.

THURSDAY – AUG 9 – Mostly sunny and less humid, high in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 10 – Sunny, high near 90.

SATURDAY – AUG 11 – Partly sunny and more humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

SUNDAY – AUG 12 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 13 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Southerly wind to 14 knots, seas 2 feet.  Belmar’s ocean temperature is 77 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Wednesday through Saturday.
