Hot and humid today with plenty of sunshine! Very warm and humid Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance of showers!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures are once again quite warm with readings ranging from the upper 70s in the Clifton area down to some mid 60s further inland, the humidity is high with dew points around 70.

High pressure today will give us plenty of sunshine  and it will be hot with highs in the mid 90s and with dew points around 70 will boost the heat index to near 100 degrees.  A heat advisory is in effect.

The high pressure will move off the coast and with a slow moving front to our west will give us a chance of showers Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday.  It will still be hot and humid both days.

The front will push to the east and Thursday and Friday look to be dry days with seasonably warm temperatures and slightly lower humidity.

Another slow moving front may give us a chance of showers over the weekend with warm temperatures and the humidity will again be rather uncomfortable.

A high pressure ridge building into our area will cause a more westerly flow which will give us more sunshine today and on Monday along with hotter temperatures, the humidity will be slightly lower than the last few days with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.  Daytime highs will reach the low-mid 90s both today and tomorrow, a heat advisory is in effect.   And for the first time in days that we will have no rain.

Shower chances increase Tuesday afternoon through Thursday as a slow moving cold front moves into the area.

Dry weather for Friday but another disturbance may touch of a shower on Saturday.

Heavy rain this morning then some afternoon sunshine! Hot and dry Sunday and Monday!


Good morning everyone!

Rain has moved into the area early this morning and temperatures are warm once again with readings ranging from the middle 70s in Clifton to the upper 60s further inlands, winds are light and the humidity is high.

An area of low pressure will move through the area this morning producing rain heavy at times along with a rumble or two of thunder, some of the heavier downpours may cause some flash flooding.  The system will move to our northeast and high pressure will build into the area.  We should see some sunshine by this afternoon but there still will be a chance of a widely scattered shower or thunderstorm.

Bermuda high to our east will cause a more westerly flow of air for Sunday and Monday that will cause a slight drop in humidity but with more sunshine both days temperatures should reach the 90s.

Still hot on Tuesday but a slow moving cold front will be approaching the area will give us a chance of showers again Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

Fair and warm weather with lower humidity is likely on Friday.

Quite warm and humid again today with scattered showers and thunderstorms! Heavy rain likely late tonight into Saturday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early this morning and once again it is quite muggy.  Temperatures range from the mid 70s in the Clifton area down to around 70 further inland, dew points are in the oppressive 70s and the winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have quite warm and humid conditions once again with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, temperatures will once again rise into the 80s and the dew point will continue to be in the 70s.  Strong high pressure offshore and a weak front to our west continues to pump tropical air into the area.

A small low pressure will move through the area late tonight into Saturday morning that will likely produce heavy showers and thunderstorms from late tonight into Saturday morning.  There still will be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm Saturday afternoon.  Temperatures will be warm and the humidity will remain high.

Dry weather with more sunshine and hot temperatures Sunday and Monday as winds become more westerly around the Atlantic high pressure.  Humidity levels will be slightly lower.

A slow moving cold front may give us some showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday followed by possibly less humid air for the end of next week.

Continued quite warm and humid today with afternoon thunderstorms possible!


Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early this morning and temperatures range from the low 70s in the Clifton area down to the mid 60s further inland.  The humidity has dropped a little with dew points in the upper 60s, winds are mainly calm.

Today will be quite warm and humid again and there is a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, most of this activity will be west of our area across Eastern Pennsylvania and the western part of New Jersey.  Dew points should rise into the oppressive low 70s again.  A high pressure ridge located offshore and a front to our west will continue the southerly flow of tropical air.

Warm and humid again on Friday with a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm again mainly inland.  Showers and thunderstorms will be more likely Friday night into early Saturday morning as a stronger trough of low pressure moves into the area.

After a chance of lingering showers on Saturday we should see more sunshine by the afternoon, it will still be warm and humid.

A more westerly wind will cause dry conditions but becoming hot Sunday and Monday.

A cold front is expected to give us more showers Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.

CLIFTON MONTHLY SUMMARY – JULY 2018.

Temperatures averaged 1.8 degrees above normal.   Maximum temperature was 99 degrees recorded on the 2nd.  Minimum temperature was 57 on the 8th.

Precipitation was well above normal with 7.94″ which is nearly double of the average and it was the wettest July since 2004.
