Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are about 15 degrees warmer than this time yesterday, with readings ranging from the low 60s in Clifton down to the low 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm. There may be some sprinkles in parts of the area but most places have remained dry.

Today a southwest flow of warmer and more humid air will dominate our weather, we may see some sprinkles this morning. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and continue into Thursday as a cold front moves through the area. Some clearing and becoming less humid by late Thursday afternoon.

Very nice late spring weather is expected Friday through the weekend with dry conditions and seasonably warm temperatures, the humidity levels will be low to moderate.

A frontal system may give us rain early next week with some heavy downpours possible.

High pressure will be providing our area with another nice day with seasonably cool temperature, low humidity and plenty of sunshine. Winds will be lower than on Monday. Tonight will have an increase in clouds with overnight lows about 15 degrees higher than this morning.

Tomorrow will be much warmer as a warm front moves through in the morning, the humidity will be higher too. Showers and thunderstorms are likely late in the day into Thursday morning. A cold front will cross the area during the day on Thursday.

High pressure will then dominate our weather Friday through the weekend with the only a low chance of a shower Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will be slightly above normal.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures this morning are cooler with readings ranging from the mid 50s in Clifton down to 43 degrees in Walpack, winds are light northwesterly.

Yesterday we did not receive any rainfall as the storms were just to our south and east.

High pressure building in from the midwest will give us a very pleasant late spring day with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will be seasonably cool and the humidity will be much lower than the last few days. Also it will become breezy with gusts in the upper 20s possible.

High pressure will be over us on Tuesday, the morning will be chilly with lows dropping into the 40s. During the day the weather will be pleasant, there will be an increase in clouds by late in the day.

Wednesday and Thursday will be warmer and more humid as a warm front moves to our north Wednesday morning followed by a cold front on Thursday. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.

At this point Friday through the weekend looks to be dry with pleasantly mild temperatures, it will be cooler at the coast however as high pressure builds from the north which will cause winds to be more onshore.

Skies across our area are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are mild ranging from the mid 60s in Clifton down to the upper 50s further inland, winds are light westerly.

Today will start off partly sunny and it will be warm and rather humid with high temperatures reaching to near 80. A line of showers and thunderstorms will move into the area by late this afternoon and continue into this evening. These storms may be accompanied by heavy rain, strong gusty winds, hail and frequent lightning. The cold front will move east of our area tonight.

Much cooler and drier air along with mostly fair skies Monday and Tuesday, daytime highs will be in the low 70s with overnight lows Monday night may drop into the 40s especially inland. High pressure will build into the area from the Great Lakes.

Becoming warm and more humid Wednesday through the beginning of next weekend, a couple of fronts in our area will give us a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms each day.

MAY 2019 CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY!

Temperatures during the month was slightly above normal. highest temperature was 89 set on the 26th, the lowest reading was 41 degrees set on the 12th and 13th. Precipitation was well above normal with 9.78 inches falling making this this the third wettest May since 1973. An amazing 20 days had measurable precipitation.

SPRING 2019 SUMMARY:

The months March through May the temperature averaged slightly above normal and precipitation was above normal with 19.09 inches falling which made this the 6th wettest spring since 1973.

A weak high pressure will give us another pleasantly warm day with plenty of sunshine with highs again reaching the low 80s. A weak disturbance will give us a chance of showers late tonight.

Most of Sunday will be dry and warm but a cold front will give us a good chance of strong thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

High pressure will build into the area early next week with plenty of sunshine both Monday and Tuesday along with cooler tempertures and much less humidity.
