A large area of high pressure centered over the middle of the country will dominate our weather today giving us sunny skies and cold temperatures but with much less wind than yesterday.

Dry weather will continue Wednesday through Friday, temperatures will moderate with highs near 40 on Wednesday rising to the upper 40s on Friday.

A storm system will affect our area over the weekend with rain and some snow. At this time it appears our area will be mostly rain but there will be more snow to our north and west especially over higher elevations.

Strong high pressure building from the upper midwest will give our area a sunny but cold day, winds will be a little gusty this morning diminishing this afternoon.

The high pressure will dominate our weather through Friday with dry conditions and slowly moderating temperatures.

Precipitation is expected over the weekend as a low pressure system moves into the area, depending on the track of the storm as there may be just enough cold air to cause some wintry precipitation especially to our north and west, although at this time it appears that most of what falls will be in the form of rain, but stay tuned.

The frontal system that caused the precipitation yesterday is moving offshore and a brisk northwest flow will be with us today, high temperatures around 40 late this morning will drop to the low 30s by this evening. Cloudy skies this morning with a slow decrease in clouds this afternoon. We should stay dry but inland a couple of flurries are possible.

Dry weather most if not all of this week, temperatures will be below normal Monday and Tuesday, moderate to near normal on Wednesday and then above normal the rest of the week.

The next chance of precipitation will be on Saturday but at this time it will be warm enough to just have plain rain.

At this time there is no additional snowstorms expected through at least the end of this month.

Low pressure off the Canadian maritime region and building high pressure over the upper Great Lakes will give us a strong northwest flow of cold air, winds will diminsh slowly throughout the day. Skies will be sunny.

A low pressure will be moving into the Great Lakes and off our coast on Saturday, snow will begin in the early afternoon and probably change to rain before ending Saturday night. Accumulations of 2-4 inches are possible with more to our north and west.

Sunday will be a mostly sunny day but it will be windy and colder.

Mainly dry and cold conditions next week with a slow moderation in temperatures toward the end of the week.
