The weak disturbance that gave us a dusting of snow overnight will be moving north and east of our area today as high pressure builds in from the southwest. We should have mostly sunny skies by this afternoon, temperatures will be a little above normal for early January.

Another weak low pressure will be moving to our south on Tuesday giving us another chance of a dusting of snow Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be a windy day with some snow showers possible along with colder temperatures. Seasonably cold on Thursday with lighter winds.

Much milder Friday into the weekend but with shower chances increasing as a slow moving cold front approaches from the west.

The low pressure that gave us the rain yesterday is moving off the New England coast and intensifying, winds around this system will cause gusts to around 32 mph at times, skies will become mostly sunny after early morning cloudiness. Temperatures will be cooler. A weak disturbance may give us some snow showers tonight.

High pressure will give us a mostly sunny day on Monday, it will be seasonably mild with less wind than today.

Another low pressure system will likely give us rain late Tuesday afternoon possibly changing to snow before ending Tuesday night with a dusting of snow possible.

Wednesday will will have a chance of snow showers and it will be windy followed by sunny skies on Thursday, temperatures will be cold but close to seasonable levels for early January.

Much milder Friday into the weekend but low pressure moving in will likely give us rain which may be heavy at times.

Steady rain this morning will taper off to showers or drizzle this afternoon and tonight, temperatures will be mild with most high above 50 degrees. A low pressure system will be moving off the coast tonight.

Monday will again be mostly sunny with temperatures slightly above normal.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE FOR DECEMBER 2019: Temperatures this December averaged slightly above normal. Highest temperature 59 on the 23rd, lowest temperature was 13 recorded on the 19th. Precipitation was above normal with 6.88 inches falling which made the month the 7th wettest since 1973. Snowfall was above normal with 9.3 inches accumulating mostly falling on the first 3 days of the month.
