Skies across the area are mostly cloudy and temperatures are quite warm with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 75 in Clifton down to 67 at Walpack. The humidity is high and winds are calm or light southwesterly.

Today will be our last day of intense heat and high humidity as the Bermuda high continues to dominate our weather. Temperatures again will reach the upper 90s and with dew points in the 70s will cause heat indexes once again rise to above 110 degrees. An excessive heat warning continues in effect. There will again be a chance of showers and thunderstorms late today into tonight.
Saturday will be less hot but stay humid most of the day and showers and thunderstorms will be likely as a cold front crosses the area in the afternoon. Becoming less humid at night.
Sunday is looking to be a fantastic weather day with plenty of sunshine, seasonable warm tempertures and much less humidity.
Most of next week we will have near seasonable temperatures. The humidity will stay low Monday and Tuesday but increase somewhat Wednesday and Thursday as some moisture from the remains of Tropical Depression Fred moves up from the south.

TUESDAY – AUG 17 – Increasing cloudiness, high in the low 80s, chance of showers at night.
WEDNESDAY – AUG 18 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 80s.
