Skies across the area are mostly cloudy to cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is warm and muggy with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 73 in Clifton down to 67 at High Point. Winds are calm or light southerly.

Today will be a mostly cloudy and humid day once again with only a low chance of an afternoon shower, temperatures and humidity should be similar to yesterday with highs in the low 80s and dew points near 70.
The remains of Tropical Storm Fred will move into western Pennsylvania tonight and rain from this system will move into our area late tonight and continue to near daybreak on Thursday, rain may be heavy at times with 1-2 inches possible. There is even a slight chance of a weak tornado.
After Fred passes to our north and west on Thursday there still will be a chance of an afternoon and evening shower or thunderstorm.
Friday looks to be a dry and quite warm and humid day as weak high pressure builds over the area.
The weekend’s weather looks to be unsettled as a low pressure trough will be in our area. Sunday rain will be likely and we have to watch the path of Tropical Storm Henri as it moves toward the east coast.
Quite warm weather through at least the early part of next week with a chance of showers Monday and Tuesday.

THURSDAY – AUG 19 – Showers and possible a thunderstorm before 8 a.m. then remaining mostly cloudy with still a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day, humid, high in the upper 80s.
FRIDAY – AUG 20 – Partly sunny and humid, high in the upper 80s.
SATURDAY – AUG 21 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, humid, high in the mid 80s.
SUNDAY – AUG 22 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, high in the low 80s.
MONDAY – AUG 23 – Mostly sunny with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower, high in the upper 80s.
TUESDAY – AUG 24 – Mostly sunny with a chance of an afternoon or evening showers, high in the upper 80s.
