Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are once again quite warm with readings at 5 a.m. ranging from 75 degrees in Clifton down to 66 at Pequest. Winds are light from the southwest.

The Bermuda high pressure ridge will continue to give our area hot and humid weather today and on Friday with highs in the 90s both days and with dew points in the low 70s will make heat indexes to rise to near 100 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect. Only a low chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening today and only a slight chance of showers on Friday.
A backdoor cold front will cross the area Friday night and Saturday will be noticeably cooler but the humidity will stay rather high along with the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms.
Somewhat milder on Sunday but with still a chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.
Unsettled weather Monday through Wednesday with showers possible each day. Monday and Tuesday will be quite warm but a little cooler on Wednesday as a cold front moves across our area.

SUNDAY – AUG 29 – Mostly cloudy in the morning then partly sunny in the afternoon, humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high in the mid 80s.
MONDAY – AUG 30 – Partly sunny, quite warm and humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high near 90.
TUESDAY – AUG 31 – Partly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers, humid, high in the upper 80s.
