Warm and more humid today with an increase in clouds! Showers and possibly some strong thunderstorms tonight! Showers still possible on Thursday with cooler temperatures!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from 65 in Clifton down to 52 at Walpack, winds are mainly calm or light southwesterly.

Today will be a warm day and it will be rather humid with dew points rising to the upper 60s. A strong cold front will be approaching from the west which will cause increasing cloudiness along with a chance of a shower late this afternoon. As the front moves into our area a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms will move into our area mainly late tonight. The rain may be heavy with the front and there is a flash flood watch in effect as some streams and rivers may move to flood stage again, however the rain will not be nearly as bad as what was experienced with Hurricane Ida. Also there is a chance of some severe thunderstorms and even an isolated tornado mainly to our west.

Thursday will be a cooler day with mostly cloudy skies and some showers may linger especially to our east.

Very nice late summer weather will return for Friday and last through the weekend. Temperatures will be near normal Friday and Saturday and rise to above normal values on Sunday.

Warm again on Monday but a cold front may touch off some showers at night followed by slightly cooler weather for Tuesday.

TONIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms, some heavy rain with gusty winds possible, low in the upper 60s. Rainfall amounts around 1 inch.

THURSDAY – SEP 9 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers mainly before 2 p.m. high in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY – SEP 10 – Sunny, high in the upper 70s.

SATURDAY – SEP 11 – Sunny, high in the upper 70s.

SUNDAY – SEP 12 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – SEP 13 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 80s, chance of showers at night.

TUESDAY – SEP 14 – Mostly sunny, high near 80.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday, winds southwest to 25 knots, seas 4-7 feet. High risk of dangerous rip currents and swells from Hurricane Larry well out in the Atlantic.

OUTLOOK – Advisories still likely for high seas during the day on Saturday followed by sub-advisory level conditions Saturday night into Sunday.
