Skies are cloudy and mainly light rain is falling across much of our area on this first day on August. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 66 in Clifton down to 61 at High Point. Winds are calm or light northerly.

A small low pressure area will move offshore this morning and showers should end by 9 a.m., skies should remain mostly cloudy and it will be humid with dew points in the upper 60s. High temperatures should average in the low 80s but could be higher if we get more sunshine than anticipated later this afternoon.
Dry and hot weather Tuesday through Thursday with Thursday being the hottest day with highs well up into the 90s. Humidity during this period will be moderate with dew points mainly in the mid 60s.
A front will be in our area Friday through the weekend which will give us a chance of showers each day. Temperatures will be quite warm and the humidity will be high with dew points in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – AUG 7 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 90s.
