Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and there are some rain and snow showers falling over parts of the area. Early temperatures range from 36 in Clifton down to 25 at High Point. Winds are from the north averaging 5-10 mph.

A cold front moved to our south and east early this morning accompanied by some light showers. Today will be cooler than the last several days with highs near 40 which is still a little above normal.

Dry weather with continued seasonably cold temperatures Wednesday and Thursday.

An Arctic cold front will cross the area late Thursday night followed by the coldest air since last Christmas weekend. Friday’s highs will only be in the 20s and overnight lows will be near zero along with brisk winds. Highs on Saturday will struggle to reach 20 degres.

The very cold air will not last very long and Sunday’s high temperatures will rise into the 40s, but skies will be mostly cloudy with a low chance of some showers.

Today will be another mild day with partly sunny skies and light southwesterly flow ahead of a cold front that will come through tonight possibly causing some showers from around 9 p.m. till midnight.

Tuesday will be colder as high pressure builds into our area, a weak disturbance may touch off some snow showers Tuesday night but most of the precipitation will be to our south.

Dry and seasonably cold Wednesday and Thursday.

Looks like we will have a brief Arctic blast of bitterly cold and windy weather Friday into Saturday. Lows may fall to near zero by Saturday morning with highs only near 20.

Milder on Sunday along with a low chance of some showers.

Today we will have considerable cloudiness but it will continue to be mild as a light southwesterly flow continues as high pressure is off the southeast coast. There is a slight chance of an afternoon shower but most areas will remain dry.

Another mild day on Monday ahead of a cold front that will cross the area in the afternoon.

Colder air will filter in for Tuesday through the beginning of the weekend but we should stay mainly dry as the storm track should keep any precipitation to our south. Saturday may be the coldest day since Christmas weekend, with lows in the low teens and highs only in the 20s.

The cold air will not be with us long as temperatures quickly moderate next Sunday with mild weather continuing much of next week.

High pressure building toward our area from the southwest will give us a mostly sunny day with temperatures at or slightly above normal. Winds will be from the southwest but will not be as brisk as yesterday.

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather this weekend with mild temperatures Saturday will be mostly sunny but mostly cloudy on Sunday as a weak disturbance moves through the area.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of light snow or snow showers Tuesday night through the day on Wednesday.

Much colder weather with finally below normal temperatures Thursday through next weekend but at this point the area will stay mainly dry.
