After having record breaking heat yesterday today will be less hot with highs approaching 90 degrees, but the humidity will be higher with dew points in the low 70s. A heat advisory remains in effect. There is a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, some rain may be heavy.
Unsettled weather for the weekend as a front will be in our area. High temperatures will be a little lower but the humidity will remain high. Also showers are likely and possibly some thunderstorms both days mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Still a chance of showers on Monday as the front only slowly moves offshore.
Dry weather is expected on Tuesday but another frontal system will give us a chance of showers again Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures and humidity will slowly decrease.
Meanwhile powerful Hurricane Lee is north of the leeward islands with top winds of 160 mph. Lee is expected to even get stronger with top winds of 180 mph forecasted. The track of the storm still has it off our coast so we should not have any direct impacts of the storm but high waves and dangerous rip currents are likely along the Jersey shore.
