Mostly cloudy, breezy and chilly today with a slight chance of some snow flurries! Chilly again on Thursday with a slight chance of flurries! Partly sunny and milder Friday and Saturday! Rain heavy at times with strong winds mainly Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are seasonably cold with readings ranging from 31 in Clifton down to 25 at High Point and Sandyston. Winds are from the northwest averaging 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with and index of 36.

A storm well off shore will be moving further east but still cause mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of some flurries. Winds will be a little brisk out of the northwest.

A weak warm front approaching from the west will cause mostly cloudy skies on Thursday with temperatures continued chilly with again a slight chance of flurries.

High pressure will then build into our area from the southeast and we will have a southwesterly flow of milder air along with dry conditions Friday and Saturday.

A strong low pressure system will give us rain possibly heavy at times Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will average between 1 and 1 1/2 inch. Also there will be strong southerly winds possibly gusting to above 40 mph.

Quiet weather with near seasonable temperatures early next week.

THURSDAY – DEC 7 – Increasing clouds with a slight chance of snow or rain showers, highs in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 8 – Mostly sunny and milder, highs near 50.

SATURDAY – DEC 9 – Partly sunny, highs in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – DEC 10 – Rain developing in the afternoon becoming heavy at times at night, windy and quite mild with highs near 60.

MONDAY – DEC 11 – Chance of showers before daybreak then becoming mostly sunny and breezy, highs near 50.

TUESDAY – DEC 12 – Sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon through 3 a.m. Thursday morning for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 1-2 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Thursday through Saturday; advisories expected with gales likely on Sunday.
