Skies are cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from 47 in Clifton down to 42 at Ramsey. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 92.

A strong frontal system will give us rain that should develop by 10 a.m. and continue heavy at times this afternoon and tonight. Rainfall amounts will average between 2-3 inches. Winds will gust to 35 mph tonight into Monday morning. A flood watch is in effect. The precipitation may mix with snow before ending Monday morning, no accumulations expected in our area but higher elevations well inland may pick up an inch of snow.

Dry weather with near normal temperatures are expected through the week. A warming trend is likely for next weekend with only a slight chance of showers next Sunday.

TONIGHT – Rain and possibly a thunderstorm with rain heavy at times, windy with gusts to 35 mph likely, winds from the south will become northwest after midnight. low near 40.

MONDAY – DEC 11 – Chance of rain before 10 a.m. then clearing, winds with gusts to 35 mph likely, highs in the mid 40s.

TUESDAY – DEC 12 – Sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 13 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

THURSDAY – DEC 14 – Sunny, highs in the low 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 15 – Sunny and milder, highs in the low 50s.

SATURDAY – DEC 16 – Partly sunny, highs near 50.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Monday evening for southerly winds to 45 knots becoming northwest after midnight, seas 6-9 feet.

OUTLOOK: Advisories still possible Tuesday and Wednesday; no advisories expected for Thursday.
