Windy today with a slight chance of snow showers around noontime! Cold and dry on Monday with diminishing winds! Light snow likely late Monday night through Tuesday afternoon! Cold and dry Wednesday and Thursday! Chance of snow on Friday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are much cooler than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 30 in Clifton down to 23 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the west. The air quality is good with an index of 34.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 14TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 36 AVERAGE LOW: 21

RECORD HIGH: 67 – 2005 RECORD LOW: -1 – 1988

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 60 LOW: 32 PRECIPITATION: .93″ STORM TOTAL: 1.08″

Today we will see an increase in clouds this morning and as a Arctic cold front moves through the area there is a slight chance of brief snow shower or squall around noontime followed by clearing, windy and colder weather this afternoon. Wind gusts to 40 mph are possible.

Monday will be cold but with much less wind along with partly sunny skies.

A weak coastal low pressure area will likely give us some light snow with possible accumulations of 1-3″

High pressure will then build into the area for Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will continue to be below normal.

Another low pressure area will give us a good chance of more snow on Friday, too early to determine accumulations for this storm.

Next weekend the cold weather persists but it should remain dry. Although temperatures will be below normal this week no frigid air is expected like it is now over the middle of the country, as the cold air will modify before reaching our area. Also looking further ahead it appears that next week will be mild.
