Good morning everyone!
Skies are partly to mostly cloudy early on this Super Bowl Sunday and temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from 43 in Clifton down to 33 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the north. The air quality is moderate with an index of 90.
CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR FEBRUARY 11TH:
AVERAGE HIGH: 39 AVERAGE LOW: 23
RECORD HIGH: 64 – 2009 RECORD LOW: 0 – 1979
YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 59 (Tied Record high) LOW: 38 PRECIPITATION: TRACE
After having record tying warmth yesterday, today will be slightly cooler but still well above normal with highs in the low 50s despite having plenty of clouds. A weak high pressure system is building into our area.
Still mild during the day on Monday with partly sunny skies.
A winter storm will affect our area Monday night into Tuesday morning, the precipitation should start off as rain Monday night as the low pressure develops off the coast, but colder air will probably change to wet snow Tuesday morning and continue to around noontime followed by clearing. Tricky forecast for snow accumulations as we will have 2-4 inches of snow in Clifton but over 6 inches across northwest New Jersey into the Hudson Valley. Northeast winds will increase. My guess is that most accumulation here will be mainly over colder surfaces and the roads may be just wet.
Mainly dry weather Wednesday through Saturday with near or slightly below normal temperatures, a couple of weak disturbances may give us a slight chance of precipitation Thursday night into Friday.
