The second rain storm of the week will move into our area today with rain developing by early this afternoon and continuing heavy at times through tonight before tapering off to showers and ending on Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 1 1/2 inches likely and a flood watch is in effect.

Friday will be a very nice early March day with plenty of sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures.

The third rain storm of the week will affect our weather for the weekend with another 1-2″ of rain possible.

Dry but windy weather is expected for early next week as the low pressure moves to the Canadian Maritimes and high pressure builds from the west.

Today will not be as mild as we will have more clouds and a light northerly flow from weak high pressure; still highs will be in the upper 50s which is still more than ten degrees above normal.

A low pressure area will move into the area from the south giving us rain from before dawn on Tuesday through the early evening. High temperatures will be a little cooler due to the rain and clouds. Rainfall amounts will average between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch.

There will be a break in the rain Tuesday night into Wednesday morning but a stronger low pressure system will give us rain some possibly heavy Wednesday afternoon through the day on Thursday. Rainfall amounts should be between 1-2 inches.

FEBRUARY 2024 CLIMATE SUMMARY. RECORDS SINCE 1973.

February’s average temperature was 37.2 degrees which was about 4 degrees above normal and was the 10th warmest February. The highest temperature was 59 degrees set on the 10th and the 28th. The lowest temperature was 18 degrees set on the 25th, this was the highest minimum temperature for February. Rainfall was below normal with 2.22″. Snowfall was near average with 11.2″ most of coming on the 13th when 8.5″ accumulated.

WINTER MONTHS

Temperatures during this winter season averaged well above normal and was the 4th warmest winter. Precipitation was well above normal also with 19.04″, December and January were quite wet while February was drier than normal. Snowfall was below normal with 18.6″ accumulating.
