Warmer and more humid on Independence day with a chance of showers and thunderstorms at night! Humid and seasonably warm Friday through the start of next weekend with still a chance of showers both days.

Skies are cloudy on this Sunday morning and it is very muggy. Temperatures are mainly in the low to mid 70s with dew points in the oppressive 70s. Winds are light out of the south. The air quality is good with an index of 45.

Quite warm and humid air will be with us today, there will be a chance of showers during the day but most of the activity will be between 5-8 p.m. when some strong to severe thunderstorms are possible producing very heavy rain, strong gusty winds and even some hail. A cold front will cross the area tonight.

Much more comfortable weather to start off July with plenty of sunshine Monday through Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area from the northwest.

On Independence Day a cold front will approach the area which will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the evening. There will be an increase in temperatures and humidity.

The front will linger around our area Friday into the start of the weekend with still some showers possible. The humidity will stay rather high.

INDEPENDENCE DAY – JULY 4 – Partly sunny and more humid, highs near 90. Chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 8 p.m.

FRIDAY – JULY 5 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, highs in the upper 80s.

SATURDAY – JULY 6 – Mostly sunny with a chance of showers, highs near 90.
