Another hot and humid day today with late day and evening showers and thunderstorms likely! Not as hot on Sunday but remaining humid with showers and thunderstorms again likely! Dry and hot on Monday! More showers likely Tuesday into Wednesday! Possible heavy rain towards the end of the week from what may become Tropical Storm Debby as it moves up the east coast!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and once again it is warm and muggy. Temperatures range from 73 in Clifton down to 69 at High Point. Winds are calm or light southerly. The air quality is moderate with an index of 54.

A weak front in our area will give us partly sunny skies today and it will be hot and humid again with heat indexes near or above 100 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect. Also some strong thunderstorms are possible mainly from late this afternoon into this evening.

Sunday will be less hot with more clouds but it will remain humid with showers and thunderstorms likely.

Drier air for Monday and it will be mostly sunny but hot.

Another front just to our south will likely give us more showers Tuesday into Wednesday.

Potential heavy rain from what may become Tropical Storm Debby which may move up the east coast into our area Thursday and Friday.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy and muggy with showers and thunderstorms likely with heavy rain possible, lows in the low 70s.

SUNDAY – AUG 4 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning then showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon, humid, highs in the mid 80s.

MONDAY – AUG 5 – Sunny and hot, highs in the low 90s.

TUESDAY – AUG 6 – Partly sunny and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, highs in the upper 80s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 7 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely in the morning and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, highs in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 8 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the low 80s.

FRIDAY – AUG 9 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs near 80.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 2 p.m. this afternoon through 6 a.m. Sunday for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 75 degrees.

OUTLOOK: Advisories possible for high seas during the day on Sunday; no advisories expected Sunday night through Tuesday; advisories expected for Wednesday.
