Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures are unseasonably warm with readings ranging from 66 in Clifton down to 56 at Hackettstown. Winds are light from the southwest. The air quality is moderate with an index of 52.

A cold front will cross the area around noon possibly preceded by some light showers or sprinkles and followed by a brisk west-northwest flow of drier air. With wind gusts to 30 mph and with the extremely dry conditions there is a good chance of brush fires and a red flag warning has been posted. High temperatures will again approach the 80 degree mark this afternoon but should fall into the 40s by Saturday morning!

Dry weather with near seasonable temperatures on the weekend as high pressure builds from the Midwest.

A warm front will cause mostly cloudy skies on Monday and temperatures will continue to be near seasonable levels.

Warmer again Tuesday and Wednesday as a high pressure ridge moves offshore and a southwest flow develops, highs both days will be in the 70s.

A cold front will come through Wednesday night possibly accompanied by some light showers followed by sunny and cooler weather for Thursday.

No signs of any significant rain for the next several days as our drought continues.

THURSDAY – NOV 7 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 60s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 11 p.m. tonight for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-5 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Saturday through Monday; possible advisories on Tuesday.
