First measurable rain in a record six weeks will end the drought tonight as we will have some light rain! Clearing, breezy and mild tomorrow! Dry and cool Tuesday and Wednesday! Low chance of showers on Thursday! Dry with near seasonable temperatures Friday through next weekend!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and it is a bit smoky again. Temperatures are cool with readings ranging from 37 in Clifton down to 22 at Walpack. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 75.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR NOVEMBER 10TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 55 AVERAGE LOW: 37

RECORD HIGH: 76 – 2020 RECORD LOW: 22 – 2017

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 55 LOW: 39 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Today we will see an increase in clouds as a frontal system approaches from the west. We will still have some smoky conditions mainly from the wildfire off I-287. Steady light rain should begin around 7 p.m. and end early Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will be between 1/4-1/2 inch and will end our record dry spell at 42 days. Also if you are driving this evening be aware of possible slippery roads when the rain starts as there will be considerable oil on the roads.

The front will move offshore tomorrow morning and it will become a mostly sunny, breezy and quite mild day. A secondary cold front will cross the area dry at night.

Dry but much cooler Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure builds into the area.

A weak frontal system may give us some showers on Thursday.

Dry with near seasonable temperatures are expected Friday through next weekend as high pressure moves into the area.
