Skies are mostly clear early on this Wednesday morning and it is chilly with temperatures ranging from 26 in Clifton down to 11 at Walpack. Winds are calm or light westerly. The air quality is good with an index of 31.

High pressure will be moving off the coast as a frontal system approaches from the northwest. We should see an increase in clouds by this afternoon with below normal temperatures. Winds will become gusty out of the south-southwest by later in the day. Light rain and snow showers are expected tonight into Thursday morning. The cold front associated with this system will move through Thursday morning followed by a strong westerly flow of colder air. Wind gusts to 45 mph are likely and a wind advisory has been posted.
Arctic high pressure will dominate our weather on Friday with quite cold conditions, the winds will still gust to 30 mph at times making it feel much colder.
Dry weather is expected for the weekend, it will still be chilly on Saturday but temperatures will moderate on Sunday.
Quite mild through early next week but another frontal system will give us a chance of rain Monday into Tuesday.

SUNDAY – DEC 8 – Mostly sunny and not as cold, highs in the upper 40s.
MONDAY – DEC 9 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, highs near 50.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been posted effective between 6 p.m. this evening through 6 a.m. Friday morning; advisories continuing through the day on Friday; no advisories expected for the weekend.
