Clearing, breezy and quite mild today! Cloudy with rain Wednesday afternoon and evening! Mostly sunny with near seasonable temperatures on Thursday! Colder on Friday with a chance of light snow! Dry and quite cold weather for the weekend!

Skies are cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and much of the rain and drizzle has moved offshore. It is quite mild with temperatures ranging from 48 in Clifton down to 39 at Walpack. Winds are from the southwest around 5-10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 19.

A cold front will cross the area around noon and we will have clearing after early morning clouds, it will be mild with highs well up into the 50s. Winds will be a little brisk out of the west.

Another disturbance will give us more rain Wednesday afternoon and evening, rainfall amounts will average between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.

High pressure will then build into our area for Thursday with mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures.

An offshore low pressure may touch off some light snow on Friday.

Dry but much colder this weekend as an Arctic high pressure builds toward our area. We may have the coldest air of the season so far.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear, lows in the mid 30s.

WEDNESDAY – DEC 18 – Becoming cloudy with rain developing in the mid afternoon and ending late in the evening, highs in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – DEC 19 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – DEC 20 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow, highs near 40.

SATURDAY – DEC 21 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – DEC 22 – Sunny, highs only in the upper 20s.

MONDAY – DEC 23 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. this evening for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected during the day on Wednesday; advisories likely Wednesday night through the day on Thursday; no advisories expected Thursday night through the day on Friday; advisories again likely Friday night into Saturday.
