Mostly cloudy and windy again today with a chance of a few flurries! Mostly sunny and seasonably cold on Friday with a little less wind! Mainly dry and cold this weekend and still breezy! A chance of light snow on Monday! Dry and continued cold Tuesday and Wednesday!

Skies are partly cloudy on this Thursday that may feel more like a Monday. Temperatures range from 36 in Clifton down to 28 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the west. The air quality is good with an index of 19.

A storm over eastern Canada will give us a strong westerly flow of air with some gusts to 47 mph. a wind advisory continues in effect. Skies will be partly sunny and there may be some flurries at times. High temperatures will be a little above normal but the winds will make it feel colder.

Friday will be less windy as the storm over Canada moves further away. Skies will be mostly sunny with seasonably cold temperatures.

High pressure will dominate our weather for the weekend with mostly sunny skies both days with below normal temperatures.

An area of low pressure will move to our south on Monday and we will be on the northern fringe of precipitation. At this time a dusting is possible but this forecast is still quite uncertain.

Mainly dry and cold weather through at least the middle of next week. Although temperatures will be near normal it should not be as frigid as we had the few days before Christmas.

MONDAY – JAN 6 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow, highs in the mid 30s.

TUESDAY – JAN 7 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 30s.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 8 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for westerly winds gusting to 35 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: Possible advisories during the day on Friday; advisories expected Friday night through the day on Saturday with possible gale gusts; advisories possible Saturday night through the day on Sunday; advisories probable Sunday night into Monday.

DECEMBER 2024: This past month the average temperature was 35.4 degrees which was slightly below normal. The highest temperature was 61 degrees set on the 29th. The lowest temperature was 6 degrees that occurred on the 23rd. Precipitation was slightly above normal with 4.62″ Snowfall was slightly below normal with 4.8″ accumulating.

2024: The average temperature for the year was 56.4 degrees which is the warmest on record beating the record 56.3 degrees which was set in 2023. The highest temperature was 99 degrees on July 16th, the lowest was the 6 degrees set on December 23. Precipitation was above normal despite the driest fall on record with 52.91″. 23.4″ of snowfall accumulated during the year.
