CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 4TH:
AVERAGE HIGH: 37 AVERAGE LOW: 22
RECORD HIGH: 68– 2023 RECORD LOW: 1 – 1981
YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 39 LOW: 28 PRECIPITATION: NONE
Low pressure well offshore in combination with an Arctic high building from the northern plain states will give us a brisk northwest flow of cold air. Skies should be partly sunny in the morning then become mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of some flurries. Highs in the mid 30s will feel colder as winds will gust to near 30 mph.
Sunday will be less windy with sunny skies as the high pressure builds closer to our area, highs will again be in the mid 30s.
Still uncertain on the path of our next storm that will be moving to our south on Monday, we will be on the northern fringe of the precipitation. At this time our area will likely have a dusting to one inch accumulation of snow with more to our south.
The rest of the week should be dry, cold and windy. Although temperatures will be below normal no record lows are expected.
There is some indications that we may have more snow next weekend.
