Mostly sunny and cold today with a little less wind! Chance of light snow on Monday! Dry, cold and breezy weather Tuesday through Friday! Chance of snow next weekend!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures range from 26 in Clifton down to 18 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the west. The air quality is good with an index of 22.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 5TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 37 AVERAGE LOW: 22

RECORD HIGH: 61 – 1993 RECORD LOW: 2 – 1996

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 33 LOW: 26 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Low pressure well offshore in combination with high pressure to our southwest will give us a brisk westerly flow of cold air. Skies will become mostly sunny after early morning clouds. The winds should be a little less than yesterday but still gust to 25 mph. The winds will become light tonight.

The well advertised low pressure will be moving to our south on Monday which will give us a chance of light snow mainly from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Accumulations in our area should be an inch or less with higher amounts to our south.

Arctic high pressure will then dominate our weather Tuesday through Friday giving us dry but cold and windy conditions through this period.

There is a chance of widespread snow over the weekend. Yesterday the GFS model had a big snowstorm while the European model had the storm too far offshore. Now the Euro shows a snowstorm while the GFS has it offshore.
