Sunny, quite cold and very windy weather to continue today and again on Thursday! Slightly milder on Friday with diminishing winds! Chance of light snow Saturday morning! Mainly dry and seasonably cold Sunday through early next week!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from 23 in Clifton down to 13 at High Point. Winds continue to be gusty out of the northwest. The air quality is good with an index of 27.

Strong low near Newfoundland Canada, in combination with high pressure in the middle of the country, will continue a northwest flow of cold air today and again on Thursday. Wind gusts to 31 mph today and gusts to near 45 mph on Thursday will make it feel cold despite plenty of sunshine both days.

The low pressure over the Canadian maritime region will weaken on Friday and we should have light winds and somewhat milder temperatures.

Low pressure now is forecasted to remain to our south and then move offshore on Saturday with only a chance of light snow mainly in the morning, accumulations will range from a coating to an inch.

Dry weather Sunday through Tuesday with near seasonable temperatures.

SATURDAY – JAN 11 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow mainly in the morning, highs in the mid 30s.

SUNDAY – JAN 12 – Sunny, highs in the upper 30s.

MONDAY – JAN 13 – Mostly sunny, highs near 40.

TUESDAY – JAN 14 – Mostly sunny,, highs in the mid 30s.

MARINE FORECAST: A gale warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday evening for northwest winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected for Friday; advisories again likely for Saturday and Sunday.
