Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from 44 in Clifton down to 31 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the northwest. The air quality is good with an index of 43.

The frontal system that gave us the showers and thunderstorms overnight is moving offshore as weak high pressure builds in from the northwest. We will have clearing today after early morning clouds and temperatures will be cooler with highs in the 50s which is normal for this time of year.

A cool day on Wednesday, early morning temperatures may dip below freezing then we should have and increase in clouds. With the clouds and an onshore marine flow will keep high temperatures mainly in the 40s.

A warm front will move through on Thursday possibly accompanied by some showers and followed by milder temperatures.

The weather becomes unsettled for Friday through the weekend as a front will be around our area which will cause showers at times.

TODAY – APR 1 – Clearing, highs in the mid 50s.

TONIGHT – Mostly clear and chilly, lows near 30.

WEDNESDAY – APR 2 – Increasing clouds and cool, highs in the upper 40s.

THURSDAY – APR 3 – Cloudy and milder with showers likely, highs in the low 70s.

FRIDAY – APR 4 – Chance of morning showers then remaining mostly cloudy, highs in the mid 60s.

SATURDAY – APR 5 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely, highs in the low 50s.

SUNDAY – APR 6 – Cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the mid 60s.

MONDAY – APR 7 – Partly sunny, highs in the upper 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected during the day on Wednesday; advisories likely Wednesday night through Thursday night; no advisories expected for Friday and Saturday.
