Temperatures this morning under clear skies and calm winds have fallen to the lowest level since last May with readings in the low 40s in the Clifton area with 30s inland. Current 6am temperature at Walpack in Sussex County is only 31 degrees.
With the high pressure over the area will give us abundant sunshine, temperatures will rise a couple of degrees higher than yesterday, mostly in the low 70s.
Pleasant and dry weather will continue the rest of the week and weekend with highs in the 70s and overnight lows mostly in the 50s.
Beginning early next week the European model (ECMWF) is indicating a possible coastal or even tropical storm right off our coast on Monday while the American model shows the system moving well out to sea so that is something to watch as we end September.
The forecast: Today – Sunny, high in the low 70s.
Tonight – Clear, low in the upper 40s.
Wednesday – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.
Thursday – Sunny, high in the mid 70s.
