Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are unseasonably mild with early readings ranging from 54 in Clifton down to 44 at Basking Ridge. Winds are calm or light southerly.

Today will be unseasonably mild ahead of a cold front, highs will be well up into the 60s with some record highs possible. Rain from the cold front is expected from around 5 p.m. until midnight.
Thursday will be cooler but will still be well above normal for early January with highs in the 50s despite plenty of clouds.
Cooler Friday through the beginning of next week as temperatures move closer to normal. Some weak disturbances moving through the area may touch off some showers Friday morning and again Saturday night, some showers Saturday night may be mixed with some snow.
