Sunny and mild today with diminishing winds! Unseasonably mild Wednesday through Friday with showers likely Thursday afternoon through Friday morning! Dry and much cooler on Saturday! Mainly dry and again milder Sunday into early next week!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and once again temperatures are above normal with early readings ranging from 40 in Clifton down to 32 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the northwest to 25 mph.

High pressure building from the west will give us a brisk northwest flow this morning with winds diminishing by this afternoon. High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than yesterday but remain well above normal for mid-February.

Wednesday should start off cloudy but become sunny and even milder on Wednesday.

Very mild will continue Thursday into at least Friday morning as a frontal system moves into the area. Showers are likely Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. The cold front associated with this system will move through by noon on Friday. Highs on Thursday will be in the 60s and highs on Friday will be in the upper 50s in the morning falling to the 40s by sunset along with gusty winds.

Saturday will be much cooler but only a little below normal, early lows will drop to near 20 and highs in the low 40s.

The cooler air will not last long as Sunday into early next will again be milder.

TONIGHT – Increasing clouds, low in the upper 30s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 15 – Cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.

THURSDAY – FEB 16 – Mostly cloudy with showers likely mainly after noontime with a possible thunderstorm, highs in the low 60s.

FRIDAY – FEB 17 – Showers likely till around 10 a.m. becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon, breezy, early highs in the upper 50s falling to the 40s by sunset.

SATURDAY – FEB 18 – Sunny, breezy and cooler, high in the low 40s.

SUNDAY – FEB 19 – Partly sunny and milder, high in the low 50s.

MONDAY – FEB 20 – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. this morning for northwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: Small craft advisories likely on Wednesday; no advisories expected during the day on Thursday; advisories likely Thursday night through Saturday with some gale gusts possible on Friday; no advisories expected for Sunday.
