Temperatures early this morning have dipped to 2 degrees above zero in Clifton ranging to -10 in many of the inland areas, in fact some inland spots in Southern New Jersey are now below zero. Luckily the winds have died down from yesterday.
With sunshine today temperatures will rise into the 20s and with continued low wind speeds it will feel more comfortable than yesterday.
The temperatures will stay steady overnight and may rise a couple of degrees by Sunday morning. There is a slight chance of freezing drizzle early in the morning but the main area of precipitation should not reach our area till Sunday afternoon and at that time temperatures will rise above freezing so all the precipitation should fall as plain rain.
Rain will continue into Monday early in the afternoon ahead of a very strong Arctic that will pass through the area around mid-day, temperatures in the 40s in the morning will plummet to the 20s in the afternoon and the single digits at night.
Tuesday will be another brutally cold and windy day with highs only in the low teens and along with very strong winds the wind chills will fall to lower than -20.
Moderating temperatures on Wednesday that should continue into next weekend as our roller-coaster winter weather continues.. No big storms are on the horizon but we may have some snow showers on Thursday night.

Monday – Rain into the early afternoon, morning highs in the mid 40s falling to the 20s by sunset.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny, windy and bitterly cold, high only around 12.
Wednesday – Sunny, high in the mid-upper 20s.
Thursday – Mostly cloudy, with a chance of snow showers at night, high in the upper 30s.
Friday – Mostly cloudy, high near 40.
