Cloudy with occasional light snow and rain mainly this morning with little additional accumulations! Dry and seasonably mild on Monday! Powerful storm expected Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday with very heavy rain which may cause major river flooding along with possible damaging winds! Dry Thursday and Friday but another storm will likely give us more rain on Saturday!

Skies are cloudy and there is some light rain or snow in parts of the area, temperatures range from 33 in Clifton down to 25 at High Point. Winds are from the north-northeast around 10 mph. The air quality is good with an index of 20.

The coastal low is moving further off the coast and the bulk of the precipitation has moved to our north and east but today will be a cloudy day with occasional light snow or rain, additional accumulations will be less than one inch. This storm gave heavy snow inland with the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey received close to a foot. Coastal areas received little accumulations.

Monday will be a quiet day with mostly sunny skies and seasonably mild temperatures.

A powerful storm will be moving to our west on Tuesday and the frontal system attached to the storm will give us heavy rain and strong possibly damaging winds Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. 2-4 inches of rain is possible which would cause major river flooding.

Dry with seasonably mild temperatures Thursday and Friday but still another storm will likely give us more precipitation on Saturday most of it again falling as rain.

TONIGHT – Mostly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly clear, lows in the upper 20s.

MONDAY – JAN 8 – Sunny, highs in the low 40s.

TUESDAY – JAN 9 – Cloudy with rain developing in the afternoon becoming heavy at times with increasing winds at night, highs in the upper 40s.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 10 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the morning then becoming partly sunny, highs in the mid 50s.

THURSDAY – JAN 11 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 40s.

FRIDAY – JAN 12 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – JAN 13 – Cloudy with rain likely, highs in the upper 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Monday morning for northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 6-9 feet.

OUTLOOK: Possible advisories Monday morning; no advisories Monday afternoon or night. Gales and probable storm force winds Tuesday and Tuesday night. Gales still likely on Wednesday; seas and winds lowering to below advisory levels on Thursday.
