Another calm day before the storm as we will have mostly sunny skies and seasonable mild temperatures! Powerful storm is expected to give us 2-4 inches of rain and possibly some damaging winds with gusts of over 45 mph Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday! Dry and seasonably mild on Thursday! More rain expected Friday night into Saturday followed by clearing and colder weather for Sunday!

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from 33 in Clifton down to 27 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the northwest. The air quality is good with an index of 31. Some black ice is possible mainly to our north and west.

Yesterday’s storm gave my area off Valley Rd in Clifton 4.0″ of snow while areas in Delawanna received less than an inch.

Today will be another calm before the storm as high pressure will build into our area giving us mostly sunny skies and temperatures a bit above normal.

A very powerful storm will move to the Great Lakes on Tuesday and its associated frontal system moving into our area will give us heavy rain from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Anticipated rainfall amounts will be between 2-4″ and with the ground saturated major flooding can be expected. Also the winds will be gusty with speeds to 46 mph in Clifton to over 60 mph along our coast which also may cause major coastal flooding.

Clearing on Wednesday it will start off mild with early highs in the mid 50s, dropping off to the low 40s by sunset.

Thursday will be another mostly sunny day with temperatures a little above normal

Another low pressure system will likely give us more rain mainly Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.

Sunday we should see some clearing and it should be breezy and colder.

Looking ahead next week looks cold with the next chance of significant snow will by on the 16th.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 10 – Chance of morning rain then clearing and windy, early highs in the mid 50s dropping to the low 40s by sunset.

THURSDAY – JAN 11 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 40s.

FRIDAY – JAN 12 – Increasing clouds with rain likely developing in the afternoon, highs in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – JAN 13 – Mostly cloudy and windy with rain likely, highs in the low 50s.

SUNDAY – JAN 14 – Partly sunny, windy and colder, highs in the mid 30.
