Snow has ended in the Clifton area after picking up an additional four inches on the backside of this winter storm, total accumulation here was 17.0. Skies are cloudy and temperatures are a little warmer than the past several mornings only falling to the upper 20s.
Today skies will clear and temperatures will rise to near normal reaching the upper 30s and with sunshine it will help melt some of this tremendous snowpack. However it will be windy with some gusts reaching 30 mph or higher..
Another weaker disturbance will be moving through on Saturday and we may pickup another 2-3 inches of the white stuff mostly falling in the morning hours.
Quite cold again Sunday and Monday but we should stay dry.
Another low pressure system will affect the area on Tuesday with a good chance of light snow that should change to rain before ending as temperatures warm up to the 40s.
Finally some warmer weather moving in from Wednesday through next weekend with no big storms in sight. This warming trend is all dependent that my wife takes down our winter shower curtain.
The forecast: Today – Clearing and windy, high near 40.
Tonight – Increasing cloudiness, low in the mid 20s.
Saturday – Snow likely, mostly in the morning, accumulation 2-3 inches, high in the mid 30s.
Sunday – Partly sunny, high near 30.
Monday – Increasing cloudiness, high near 30, chance of light snow at night.
Tuesday – Chance of snow changing to rain, high in the mid 40s.
Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 40s.
Thursday – Mostly cloudy, high in the upper 40s.
Marine Forecast: Gale warnings in effect till 1pm this afternoon for westerly winds gusting to 40 knots, seas 6-9 feet.
Outlook – Small craft advisories likely through Sunday morning, dropping below advisory levels Sunday afternoon through Monday but advisories again possible on Tuesday.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
