Another mostly sunny, hot and humid day today as summer begins at 4:45 p.m. Hot and humid on Friday with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms! Still quite warm to hot weather over the weekend with a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers both days! Good chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday followed by drier air for Tuesday and Wednesday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are again quite mild with readings ranging from 71 in Clifton down to 62 at Walpack. Winds are light from the south-southwest. The air quality is good with an index of 48.

A continued south-southwest flow of hot and humid air will be with us today as summer begins at 4:45 p.m.. this afternoon. Highs will be well up into the 90s and with dew points in the mid 60s will cause the heat index to rise to near 100. Skies will continue to be mostly sunny.

Still hot and even more humid on Friday and as a front approaches from the north which will give us a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

The front will remain just to our north over the weekend and hot and humid weather should continue with a chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms both days. Highs should be in the low 90s on Saturday and be in the mid-upper 90s on Sunday.

The front will slowly move through the area on Monday giving us a better chance of showers and thunderstorms.

High pressure will then build into our area for Tuesday and Wednesday with less humid air but temperatures will remain above normal.

SUNDAY – JUNE 23 – Mostly cloudy, hot and humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, highs in the mid-upper 90s.

MONDAY – JUNE 24 – Mostly cloudy with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms, humid, highs near 90.

TUESDAY – JUNE 25 – Sunny and less humid, highs near 90.
