Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and again it is warm and humid. Temperatures range from 72 in Clifton down to 66 at High Point. Winds are calm or light southerly. The air quality is good with an index of 42.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR AUGUST 4TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 85 AVERAGE LOW: 66

RECORD HIGH: 97 – 2022 RECORD LOW: 57 – 1985

The heavy rains mainly bypassed our area yesterday with less than 1/10 of an inch of rain while some nearby places received over 3 inches. Today will be another humid day, but with more clouds highs will only reach the 80s. Showers and thunderstorms will again become likely late this afternoon and early evening as a weak front dissipates over our area.

A weak area of high pressure will give us a sunny day tomorrow with highs back up into the 90s, dew points will drop into the 60s in the afternoon.

A cold front will likely give us showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and again with more clouds highs will only be in the 80s.

Cooler but unsettled weather Wednesday through the weekend as a front will be to our south and we may have to deal with moisture from Tropical Storm Debbie as it moves slowly up the east coast. It will be humid during this period but not as oppressive as our last few days.
