CLIFTON’S WEATHER ALMANAC FOR AUGUST 6TH:
AVERAGE HIGH: 84 AVERAGE LOW: 68
RECORD HIGH: 95 – 2018 RECORD LOW: 52 – 1994
YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 93 LOW 71 PRECIPITATION: NONE
A southwest flow of very warm and humid air ahead of a cold front that is slowly approaching from the north. Increasing cloudiness this morning with showers and thunderstorms likely developing this afternoon and continuing heavy at times tonight. Some storms may be accompanied by heavy rain with some 1-2″ per hour rain rates in some areas. A flood watch is in effect.
The front will sag to our south early Wednesday morning and an onshore low along with considerable cloudiness will make it much cooler than the last few days with highs only near 70 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are still likely.
Thursday will still be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers as the front only moves slowly southward.
More heavy rain is possible Friday & Saturday as the remnants of Debby along with the stationary front remain in our area. Still some doubt on the track of the storm but there is a potential of more flooding rains.
We finally dry out on Sunday and high pressure should dominate our weather early next week giving us pleasant temperatures and humidity.
