Good morning everyone and Happy Halloween!
Skies are partly cloudy early on this Halloween morning and once again with mainly calm winds there is a large spread in temperatures with readings ranging from 59 in Clifton down to 39 at Walpack. The air quality is moderate with an index of 63.
CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR OCTOBER 31ST:
AVERAGE HIGH: 58 AVERAGE LOW: 40
RECORD HIGH: 72 – 2019 RECORD LOW: 25 – 1988
YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 81 (New record) LOW: 54 PRECIPITATION: NONE
High pressure offshore will continue to give our area a southwest flow of unseasonably warm air with record highs likely. The record high for Halloween in Clifton is 72 degrees set back in 2019 and we should break this record by around 10 degrees. Skies will be mostly sunny. Tonight will continue to be very mild but it will be breezy. With no rain expected today, this October will be the only month without any measurable rainfall since my records began in 1973.
A cold front will cross the area around noon on Friday, there is a low chance of a shower preceding the front. Clearing in the afternoon and it will be breezy and still quite mild.
High pressure will then build from the Midwest giving us dry weather for the weekend with near seasonable temperatures.
Monday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers as a warm front moves through the area.
High pressure will then move offshore and once again we will have quite mild temperatures for Tuesday and Wednesday.
