Skies are partly cloudy early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are still on the mild side with readings ranging from 34 in Clifton down to 27 at Pequest. Winds are light from the north. The air quality is moderate with an index of 63.

A winter storm will affect our area from early this afternoon through midnight with snow becoming heavy at times especially between 4-9 p.m. Accumulations should be between 5-9 inches with possible heavier amounts.

Tomorrow will become very cold with clearing, highs will only be in the 20s despite plenty of sunshine.

Bitterly cold weather Tuesday through Friday but we should stay mainly dry. There will be low pressure moving well to our south Tuesday evening and again on Friday that may cause some flurries.

The upcoming weekend looks to be not as frigid but temperatures will still be below normal.

TONIGHT – Snow heavy at times in the evening ending by midnight. Total accumulation 5-9 inches with possible heavier amounts in some snow bands.
