Partly sunny and very cold today! Bone chilling cold but staying dry Tuesday and Wednesday! Slightly moderating temperatures but still well below normal Thursday and Friday! Mainly dry with more seasonable temperatures for the weekend!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures have fallen to 16 degrees in Clifton down to 5 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the northwest. The air quality is good with an index of 21.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 20TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 36 AVERAGE LOW: 21

RECORD HIGH: 59 – 2006 RECORD LOW: -5 – 1994

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 37 LOW: 20 PRECIPITATION: .32″ SNOWFALL: 4.3″

Yesterday’s storm fell a little short of the 5-9″ that we forecasted yesterday but we were treated with some thundersnow in the evening.

The storm that gave us the snow is moving off the New England coast as Arctic high pressure builds from the west. Today will be partly sunny, winds will be gusty this morning but diminish this afternoon. High temperatures will only be in the 20s with overnight lows tonight in the single digits.

Arctic high pressure will dominate our weather with continued very cold temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday. We should stay dry as low pressure that will affect the deep south stays well to our south.

Dry with some moderating temperatures Thursday and Friday but these readings will still be well below normal.

Temperatures will become more seasonable over the weekend and at this point it looks to be mainly dry.
